- Regular site visits and coordination with Client/Contractor
- Project responsibilities requiring the ability to establish good working relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide engineering technical support to the field during construction, including responding to RFIs from construction contractors, issuing Site Instructions and performing field reviews
- Review Wood design drawings and specifications and become familiar enough with design documents to monitor contractor construction activities to ensure compliance with design.
- Attend daily construction meetings with client and contractor.
- Write daily and/or weekly field engineering report monitoring progress and any activities performed.
- Review contractor Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
- Review geotechnical and HDPE piping test reports to ensure compliance with Wood specifications.
- Inspect civil construction and survey documentation to ensure contractor is following engineering design.
- Correspond with Wood design team.
- Provide site instructions based on actual field conditions different with design drawings under the supervision of Lead civil engineer.
- Review contract as-built documentation
- Civil Engineering Degree from a recognized university with designation or ability to register as a Professional with EGBC
- years of relevant industrial engineering experience at various stages of the project life cycle
- Capable of developing creative yet practical solutions and is open-minded to alternative solutions.
- Willingness to travel to remote field locations
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to effectively work in a multi-discipline team atmosphere is imperative.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Committed to continual improvement and achieving engineering excellence.
- Demonstration of specific experience with aspects of Project Engineering and/or Project Management roles including ownership of overall project scope, schedule and budget management would be considered an asset.
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
