Summary
The bookkeeper's role is critical for providing accurate financial information that supports the decision-making process within the organization. Attention to detail, numerical accuracy and a good understanding of accounting principles are essential qualities for a successful bookkeeper.
Role and Responsibilities/Duties
Recording Financial Transactions:
- Enter financial transactions into the accounting software.
- Complete invoices from draft done by the Sales Department, complete expenses and posting other financial activities.
Accounts Payable:
- Track and reconcile vendor accounts.
Accounts Receivable:
- Handle accounts receivable by generating preparing statements invoices, tracking customer payments, and following up on overdue accounts as per the system in place.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements with the company's financial records to ensure accuracy.
Payroll Processing:
- Process payroll, including calculating wages, taxes and deductions.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
Expense Tracking:
- Monitor and track business expenses, ensuring they are properly categorized and accounted for.
Communication:
- Communicate with clients, vendors and other stakeholders as needed.
- Collaborate with other members of the financial team.
Data Accuracy:
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in all financial records and transactions.
- Identify and correct any discrepancies or errors.
Software Proficiency:
- Utilize accounting software and other relevant tools to perform job duties efficiently.
Organization and Time Management:
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain an organized and efficient filing system for financial records.
- Other duties as assigned by the CAO
Direct Report
- This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Measures of Performance
- Perform duties in a timely fashion consistent with Company standards
- Meet established turnaround times for work requested
- Maintain the work area in a neat and tidy condition
- Maintain efficient communications with the CAO and coworkers
- Report any challenges you face that impair or delay the efficient and successful accomplishment of your job duties and responsibilities. This shall be done in writing to your manager and then addressed in a timely manner.
Salary:
$23.00-$27.00 per hour
