Accounts Payable Administrator

D U T I E S
Reporting to the Manager, Transactional Services, the incumbent's responsibilities include
analysis of client/vendor accounts to ensure that financial information is correct, ensuring the
accuracy and dependability of data in compliance with audit requirements, Red River College
Polytechnic's (RRC Polytech) policies, guidelines, protocol and authorization prior to processing
payments or refunds. Ensure that financial processes are done accurately within required
timeframe while providing exceptional customer service and accurate information to RRC
Polytech's clients and vendors. Responsible for the day-to-day processing of vouchers with
proper G/L codes, taxes, due dates, US exchange and self - assessment of taxes where required.
Manages the daily workload to ensure that expenditures are current and paid within the due
dates. Other duties may be assigned that may not be limited to the Accounts Payable unit.

  • R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
  • Diploma with an accounting major. A combination of education and experience may be

- considered
  • Experience in general accounting duties including accounts payable experience in a large

- computerized accounting system
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external

- stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within predetermined timelines
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and
continuous improvement

  • Experience working with an ERP system, preferably Colleague
  • Enrolled in a professional accounting program
  • Experience with full cycle accounting
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable processes and working knowledge of payment flows

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check
  • This position may be required to work overtime
