  • The Manager, Learning Delivery is accountable for all aspects of training program delivery to the EPCOR Water Services business unit in Edmonton. The position provides leadership, coaching, and support for a team who deliver training programs to front line employees and supervisors using classroom, field demonstration, eLearning, micromultimedia, competency assessments, and blended learning formats. This position builds relationships with key stakeholders, internal customers, vendors, SMEs, crossfunctional working groups, and learners.
What you'd be responsible for

  • Providing input to the Water Learning & Development plans and directions, ensuring an appropriate understanding of the strategy across the team.
  • Facilitating the successful delivery of engaging learning offerings through classroom training, intranet based training, practical training guides, mentorship and onthejob training, and implementing competency checks where appropriate.
  • Ensuring the delivery of optimal results; reporting on learning and development measures and metrics to monitor desired behaviours.
  • Facilitating external training vendor relationships.
  • Working collaboratively to establish processes and systems that will create a consistent employee experience, enable competency tracking, support administrative activities, and enable online learning.
  • Monitoring and analyzing training trends and identifying opportunities to improve development and delivery of training programs.
  • Working closely with the other Managers within the Learning & Development team to facilitate the delivery of effective training products.
  • Developing and nurturing a collaborative, high performance, safe, accountable, focused, and innovative culture.
  • Developing and implementing stratum appropriate deliverables within the context of the Learning & Development business plan.
  • Identifying the necessary budget requirements for the provision of efficient and effective training delivery, including annual analysis of required training materials and equipment, vendor and course costs, required technology, and occasionally providing information for regulatory filings or regulatory requests.
  • What's required to be successful
  • Bachelor Degree in Education (preferably adult education), Business, Health Safety and Environment or related area, or a certified tradesperson with postsecondary training in adult education, safety, or a related area.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in training and development in a large complex environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in an operational environment.
  • Ability to collaborate crossfunctionally with employees, SMEs, and other stakeholders in the development and delivery of technical training programs.
  • Ability to define approaches for delivery to local/remote employees.
  • Has problem solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, and business acumen.
  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Oracle learning systems, Basic knowledge of learning management systems (Oracle Learning Management System preferred) and HTML.
  • An understanding of change management principles and process design would be an asset.
