What you'll do:


Provide professional advice, support and service to customers in order to promote the sale of Home & Building merchandise including, but not limited to, lumber, plumbing, electrical, paint and tool rentals to meet the needs of customer home projects and renovations.


  • Utilize product and service knowledge to support customers in identifying, locating and purchasing required items to meet the needs, requirements and expectations of our customers and their Home and Building projects.
  • Initiate positive interactions with customers to develop trust and loyalty with North Central Coop.
  • Assist with customer inquiries in a timely manner and escalating to supervisor when necessary.
  • Support a positive customer experience by completing price checks upon request in a professional manner.
  • Stock, organize and complete merchandise displays according to store standards and policies.
  • Assist with inventory verifications and assembly of products for display.
  • Order 'special' or 'outofstock' merchandise requested by customers while adhering to our policies and procedures.
  • Order using POS programs ensuring proper margin is maintained.
  • Receive products and open freight as needed.
  • Provide Home & Building project quotes and calculations.
  • Maintain a constant alert against unauthorized removal of merchandise.
  • Contribute to a team environment by assisting in other areas as required.

Who you are:

  • High school diploma is an asset
  • 35 years of retail experience in the Home and Building Solutions industry
  • Must be service orientated in a fastpaced retail environment
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and time management skills, strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple requests and inquiries on a daily basis
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Email, Excel, Internet)
