About the role:


Project Managers are involved at all stages of the project lifecycle, from change initiation, design and delivery, through to benefits realisation and will support more senior project managers.

This project manager role is located in the RBWM Business Transformation Team of HSBC Bank Canada.


Responsibilities:


  • Understand RBWM strategic priorities and tie that to the vision and objectives of assigned project(s).
  • Defining the project approach, building stakeholder buyin around the project plan, commitments and changes.
  • Managing delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, communications, budget and risks, escalate effectively.
  • Defining resource needs, responsibilities and schedules
  • Ensure projects have defined business outcomes and benefits supported by measurable KPIs, financial and nonfinancial. Effectively use tollgates to ensure goal alignment.
  • Adhere to Business Transformation Framework, working within project controls and procedures and follow the established quality assurance processes
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders at both the market and group levels.
  • Reporting progress, issues, dependencies and risks to project leadership and committees (as appropriate) and making recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Providing guidance and maintaining a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives. Understand and manage the interplay of projects progressing in parallel to maximize synergy and mitigate risk
  • Influencing and Challenging Stakeholders to facilitate acceptance and commitment to change.
  • Embrace Agile, proficient in fastpaced environment where changing business priorities may result in reprioritisation of requirements, scope and time to market. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the way of working.
  • Understanding products, channels and propositions, be well informed of their features and benefits and how HSBC differentiate from competitors. Suggest improvements to improve customer experience.
  • Effectively engage with customers/stakeholders/colleagues, understand, respond to and anticipate their changing needs and priorities; demonstrating inclusive behaviour, valuing diversity. Communicating openly and honestly and conveying information in simple and understandable ways to build trusting relationships; Working collaboratively within and across boundaries.
  • Remain effective in a dynamic working environment, balance and prioritise different demands from multiple stakeholders. Grasp complex and incomplete information to make timely decision.
  • Understand HSBC priorities, research external marketplace innovations and use the information to identify opportunities.
Requirements

  • University Degree with 5+ years of relevant working experience, professional accreditation/training is desirable.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and its regulatory environment, experience leading implementing change in the banking industry.
  • Exposure to business case development
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and in writing.
  • Good knowledge of Business Transformation and experience in Agile way of working an asset.
