JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:

As a member of the Technology Business Management team, this position is responsible for
- managing the Records and Information Operations group, and for providing technology and
- process leadership and direction to support the enterprise-wide records and information
- management program protecting BC Hydro's information assets.

  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Accountable for the Records and Information Operations group including Library & Archives
Services, Drawing Services and Records Services. Manages the services provided to ensure
- value to the organization.
  • Sets benchmarks, evaluates program performance and allocates resources to ensure efficient
and effective implementation of records and information operations requirements.- Lead teams by coaching, mentoring, and resolving problems to support Records and Information

Operations and empower others through leadership and training to maximize potential.records and information policies and practices to develop effective business processes,
- technology solutions, security, and information access.
  • Advises Technology operations groups and project teams to ensure that technology solutions
meet records and information management requirements.- Identifies and assesses risks to BC Hydro records and information based on technology or

process deficiencies or changes, including media obsolescence impacting records preservation
- and archives. Develops and recommends solutions or action plans to mitigate the risks.

  • Participates in enterprise records and information governance, providing guidance on the
- records and information management objectives.
  • Researches records management related emerging technologies and business trends to assess
their applicability to BC Hydro at the enterprise level.- Works collaboratively with other business groups and all management levels to ensure optimal

use of information assets and the technology solutions used to manage BC Hydro information
- assets.
  • Communicates with key stakeholders on the interrelationship between records and information,
business processes, technology solutions, worker productivity, security, and information access.- Assesses Technology system compliance with records management standards, policies and

best practices to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.- Engages with legal and other stakeholders to address legal and regulatory compliance

requirements.- Works with legal to design, develop, and deploy litigation readiness protocols including records

protection orders (legal holds) and for the resumption of information disposition.- Responsible for development and sustainment of Technology Records Management standards

and processes.- Participates in continuing education, research, networking, and professional and industry

organizations to develop, maintain, and advance information management knowledge and
- practices.
  • Responsible for Records Solutions Governance Framework implementation and oversight of
records related solutions within technology.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strategic level business knowledge of information life cycle management; business, legal and
regulatory requirements and compliance, technology, privacy, and security information
- management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of information management program best practices and components.
  • Skills and ability to understand and provide advice on technology requirements including
functional and non-functional requirements, information architectures (metadata, taxonomy,
- naming conventions, security, etc.).
  • Skills and ability to understand and provide advice on key business processes and compliance
management strategies required to create, manage (classify, retention, disposition/destruction)
- and preserve documents, media and artifacts.
  • Ability to provide advice, evaluate risks, and propose options/solutions for complex and/or
technical information governance and information technology issues to senior management.- Ability to communicate the lasting economic, historical and informational value of archival
