    Senior Accountant/Controller

    AutoCanada Collision Centres

    Edmonton, Alberta, On-Site

    Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 per year, Including potential bonus

    Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, additional hours required during peak season and at month end

  • Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily accounting functions for the Collision Centre
  • Setup of new entity within existing operations
  • Preparation of month-end reporting requirements
  • Review travel and expense claims for employees
  • Preparation of bank deposits and daily cash report
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Preparing and processing journal entries to ensure proper recording of all business transactions
  • Posting of various daily transactions, including Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
  • Preparing payments for review and issuing to vendors
  • Various daily and monthly reconciliations
  • Reporting and compliance for federal, local, and state taxes
  • Payroll compliance and tracking of work locations
  • Assisting with implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures
  • Working alongside tax department to ensure compliance on various US requirements
  • Other duties as required
  • Requirements:

  • Completion of an Accounting Degree
  • Designated Chartered Professional Accountant
  • 2-3 + years of Accounting experience
  • Experience with Sage Business Works is considered an asset
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel & Word)
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with an ability to multi-task and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • Flexible to work on a wide variety of projects, tasks, and assignments
  • Responding easily to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
