    About this opportunity:

    Reporting to the Director of the Atlantic Region SCM Team, the Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Contracts will be the leader of a multi-disciplined team of SCM professionals, ensuring that sourcing activities for all Atlantic Region business requirements are conducted in strategic and timely manner in support of the regions operations. This role involves managing approximately 300 supply and service agreements, ensuring they are sourced and coordinated according to relevant standards. Building close working relationships with the Atlantic Region Business Unit and various internal and external stakeholders.

    What you'll do:

  • Leading a multi-disciplined team of SCM professionals while maintaining an individual contracting portfolio.
  • Developing and maintaining an annual sourcing plan, in conjunction with SCM and Business partners.
  • Developing and maintaining a five-year outlook of sourcing requirements for the region
  • Ensuring that team sourcing activities are carried out in alignment with agreed-upon sourcing practices, Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Benefits requirements, and COIMS requirements.
  • Conducting Supplier Performance Management meetings at a frequency agreed by SCM, Business stakeholders and in accordance with COIMS requirements.
  • Ensuring contracts clearly define expectations of suppliers, outputs, and any other requirements deemed vital to meet Cenovus's business standards.
  • Resolving contractual issues whether scope, performance or payment related.
  • Stewarding approvals of various SCM sourcing achievements ensuring sufficient engagement, including functional review requirements.
  • Ensuring adherence to joint venture approval requirements, stewarding documents, and responding to queries.
  • Completion of quarterly and annual regulatory reports and forecasts.
  • Completion of weekly and monthly Business and SCM functional reports.
  • Who you are:

  • Experience using SAP and ARIBA.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced work environment with dynamically shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Capable of leading as well as working independently within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business or related field preferred; a suitable combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • MBA would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management
  • 5 years of oil and gas industry experience is an asset.
  • SCMP designation, or similar, is considered an asset.
