Position Summary


The Business Analyst, is a member of the Employee Services team and provides expertise surrounding the management of human resources information systems (HRIS).

The Calgary Stampede's people system manages HR data, including employee records, payroll, and time off.

The Business Analyst is in charge of maintaining the system, implementing (process) improvements, ensuring data quality, and analyzing and reporting on the data in the HRIS.

The Business (HRIS) Analyst's primary responsibilities include gathering data, improving the performance of various HRIS throughout the organization, and making recommendations to improve performance metrics across departments.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with Employee Services functional teams and department leaders to help train others, provide technical support and ensure data quality in the HRIS that supports alignment with corporate and divisional strategic plans.
  • Develops strong working relationships and trust across the organization by translating business objectives and user needs into clearly written technical requirements. Business objectives can originate from the frontline, Finance, Employee Services, or other services; however, traditionally the management of payroll plays an important part of the Business Analyst's position.
  • Shared accountability and collaboration with Manager, HRIS & Payroll as it relates to HRIS implementation of requirements into existing systems or assist in choosing additional point solutions that help solve business problems (i.e.; processrelated improvements or optimization of HRIS processes, integration of new software, perform diagnostic tests, policy changes and updates that help make the system more efficient and/or optimize the user experience, and financial responsibility).
  • Implement process improvements and policy changes designed to improve efficiency and the user experience with the system.
  • Provide support to managers, supervisors, and employees to encourage and the full utilization and optimization of the systems.
  • Ensuring the integrity and security of data management and reporting; evaluate HRIS to identify points of improvement.
  • Provide customer service and user support for the HRIS.
  • Responsible for maintaining, assigning, and monitoring of system security roles and workflow administration.
  • Facilitate and deliver training for system users.
  • Document data changes or new data entry requirements and advise the team of the impact on the system.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and our external software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop technology solutions that help to streamline and automate (new) HR processes.
  • Ensuring security, enduser access, and data integrity across all HR platforms.
  • Work with HR, finance and IT to maintain and improve the HRIS, including configuration, enduser access, security, and system efficiency.
  • Supports critical system maintenance and operational tasks within the HRIS.
  • Manage software implementation projects if or as required. IT project management experience is an asset in order to implement improvements For example, implement new HRIS modules or point solutions and integrate them into the bigger HR software landscape. Perform statistical analysis on gathered HRIS data and run queries.
  • Ensure the efficient recording and secure storage of HR metrics, including attendance and employee performance data.
  • Perform audits on HR processes and documents, including hiring, termination of service, and payroll administration, when required.
  • Keep track of technological advancements and trends in the field of HRIS.
