Duties and Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Manager, Property Services, the Contract Services Supervisor is the primary contact for operational contracts within the Property Services Department, including overseeing contracted services throughout all Carleton Campuses and ensuring that work has completed as per the specifications of the contract.


The incumbent works with sensitive and confidential information such as budget information, contracts, agreements, and will display high standards of diplomacy and professionalism, and functions with a considerable degree of independence.


Given the nature of the facility operation with 24/7 occupancy by students, staff and guests, the incumbent has significant responsibility for ensuring that issues that arise after hours are properly attended to.

  • Ability to set priorities
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness
  • Decision making ability, and flexibility
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and take initiative without supervision.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills are required to identify issues and support an appropriate course of action.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent liaison services.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to participate as an effective team member are essential in the timely and successful completion of projects.

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

  • 3 year post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience, varying with formal education in custodial maintenance and supervision
