About the role

What you'll be doing

Ownership of assumptions, methods and financial reporting controls including interaction with Canadian Actuarial, Corporate, Internal Audit and External Audit.
Leading experience studies of actuarial assumptions and making ACMA recommendations.
Actuarial liability and capital reporting including signoffs and ensuring compliance with CIA standards, and applicable SLF policies & guidelines.
Understanding and communicating financial business results to senior management (e.g. drivers of earnings (DOE), required capital and ROE, and market/insurance risk sensitivities).
Databased analytics, with a lens on driving the business forward, strengthening our business understanding, and improving process efficiency and control environment.
Leading special projects pertaining to the Investment Solution lines of business including SegFund LICAT 2025, and optimization of IFRS 17 (both for financial outcomes and process efficiency), optimization of capital usage.
Providing leadership and coaching to a team of highperformance actuarial talent

What you'll need to succeed

FCIA/FSA designation.
10+ years insurance/annuities experience.
Strong actuarial & risk management knowledge.
Strong leadership & coaching skills.
Ability to influence decision making at various levels of the organization.
Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written.
