Job Overview:


The Construction Manager supports the management team of medium to large complex construction/facility maintenance projects within the Operations & Maintenance Function.

This includes but is not limited to; safety, client relationships, project financials, quality, construction execution and reporting.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintains client relationships by regular communication to better understand
- project operations, this communication should; advise of potential improvements, assess changing needs, develop teamwork and ask for client feedback on performance

  • Acts as the first line of contact to the Client Plant Manager and Site Construction Process Owner (SCPO)
  • Proactively over communicates to the client
  • Manages the work to the terms of the contract by eliminating leakage and optimizing returns
  • Monitors risk by reviewing risk on a regular basis and identifying significant business risks for Fluor Driver
  • Identifies future client requirements and upselling opportunities by developing onsite assessments of client operations and proposing project plans
  • Applies appropriate analytical tools and techniques by assessing client organizations, acquiring client
- engagements with significant profitability potential and transforming the client organization from the current state to the proposed future state

  • Fulfills contract and OSR/OSIP requirements by ensuring the duties and responsibilities of the
- project contract are clearly defined, documented and followed by the Fluor Driver team

  • Creates and monitors budgets, performance and utilization, and provide periodic reporting for the respective site
  • Creates and coordinates site logistics plans, estimates and proposals including negotiating commercial terms
  • Drives vendor competition and productivity through qualification of new vendors
  • Drives productivity improvements and efficiencies
  • Enhances skills, performance, and development of all employees by sponsoring and promoting training programs so that adherence to specifications is ensured and work of the highest quality prevails
  • Conducts safety orientations, weekly safety audits, annual internal HSE audits, lead incident investigations and reporting
  • Maintains a safe work environment by administering a proactive environmental, health and safety program oriented towards maintenance activities and zero accidents
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Technical Trades certification with 15+ years' experience or equivalent
  • General Superintendent for a minimum 3 years
  • 8+ years' experience in major construction projects
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and Visio
  • Advanced knowledge in P6 or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of construction
  • Base understanding of Project Controls
  • Intermediate understanding of Work Face Planning
  • Advanced understanding of quality control process including turnover
  • Base understanding of receiving, warehouse functions and material management
  • Base understanding of procurement procedures
  • Coordinate offsite activities
  • Able to coordinate and supervise subcontractors


  • Meetings

  • Be able to organize a meeting, create an agenda, record action items and set completion dates for action items for specific individuals or groups
  • Capable of building a detailed org chart
  • Advanced understanding of project infrastructure and cost
  • Base understanding of contract documentation and how it pertains to the work scope
