Description

The Financial Services division is responsible for financial management, assessment, procurement, risk management, asset management and support for the organization.


As a member of the County's Business Advisory Services (Asset Management, Procurement, Risk Management and ERP System support) team, the Asset Management Coordinator provides asset management technical support to all departments within the County.

This position is responsible for the development of standards, procedures, processes and technology improvements.

Also required to build, implement, maintain and continuously refine our County's asset management system based on best practices, culture and values of the organization.


Duties will include:

Data collection, database management and creation, and enterprise asset management system operation on County's asset inventory.
Development of standards, policy, procedures, processes and technology improvements related to asset management.
Prioritization of needs and providing strategic advice on capital and operational planning for infrastructure renewal and replacement.
Operational and technical support and maintaining data integrity and developing data architecture.
Plan, coordinate, implement and operate the enterprise asset management systems, ensuring the data set and software remains current. Ensure a complete, accurate, and centralized asset inventory utilizing asset management software.
Develop processes to track and maximize asset performance.
Perform data analysis and queries of asset data.
Provide formal and informal training, provide technical advice and prepare reports.


Education and Experience:

Degree in Business / Commerce, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Public Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Engagement in asset management, through development and implementation of asset management plans, preferably in a local government sector is considered an asset.

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or Professional Certificate in Asset Management (CAPM) is preferred.
Knowledge of Asset Maintenance software and GIS systems is beneficial.
Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License and Abstract
