The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is a nonprofit organization that provides technical advisory services, training, and capacity development to First Nations communities in Ontario.
By offering a wide range of specialized services and expertise, OFNTSC helps to enhance the quality of life, promote self-sufficiency, and foster economic growth within these communities.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Human Resources Administrator to join our team at OFNTSC.Under the guidance of the Human Resource Manager, the HR Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations of the organization.
This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and an understanding of HR policies and practices.These tasks must be executed in alignment with the culture and values of OFNTSC while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Administer various HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, employee records maintenance, performance management, and offboarding.
- Assist with job postings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
- Prepare and distribute HRrelated correspondence, such as employment contracts, offer letters, and disciplinary notices.
- Maintain and update employee files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
- Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations and assist with employee training programs.
- Support HR initiatives, such as employee engagement surveys, benefits administration, and policy development.
- Assist with reconciling and maintaining HRIS (Human Resources Information System), and Personnel Files.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR procedures, and processes.
- Stay current with relevant employment legislation and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintains and updates employee asset records and ensures that HR is able to provide updated and accurate employee asset lists as requested;
- Ensures policies and procedures are followed and consistent with OFNTSC values and remain aligned with the strategic plan;
- Ensures the secure handling and storage of confidential documents;
- Assists other team members within the Finance and Administration Department and carries out other duties as needed and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or college diploma with a commitment to pursue a bachelor's degree.
- Experience in a similar HR administrative role is preferred.
- Pursuing or willingness to pursue a CHRP or CPHR designation.
- Sound knowledge of HR practices, policies, and employment legislation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of First Nations communities and cultural sensitivity is an asset.
