Position Overview

The City of North Vancouver's Finance Department is looking for two (2) temporary fulltime Cashier/Accounting Clerk to join their team for approximately eighteen (18) months.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will be processing tax, utility and other revenue payments through our cash receipts system at the City Hall Gateway counter and balancing cash on a daily basis. You will assist with updating and reconciling property tax accounts with Provincial Home Owner Grant claims and Tax Deferments. Other duties include issuing dog licenses, processing mail, filing, scanning, responding to property tax inquiries from the public and working on special projects as required.

Requirements:

You will have a minimum of one year's cashiering experience, preferably in a municipal environment or in a banking or financial institution. Completion of a postsecondary course in accounting, along with practical work experience is desirable. You will also be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
For temporary fulltime positions of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.
Compensation

- $29.48 to $34.63 per hour- (Pay Grade 1

January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work
The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each threeweek scheduling cycle.
