We are seeking a Rail operation and Simulation Analyst Co-op Student to join our Rail & Transit group located in our Vancouver office.


Responsibilities:


  • Supports rail network simulation by organizing infrastructure design and timetable data provided by stakeholders;
  • Develops spreadsheets or software programs to accelerate/automate the review of simulation data;
  • Assists in producing reports, presentations, and engineering documentations based on simulation results;
  • Participates in a variety of rail network analyses, studies, simulation model development or optimization, and technical report generation addressing a wide range of operating, infrastructure and performance improvement;
  • Participates in training on railway engineering components such as trackwork, signaling, rolling stock, timetabling, stabling, etc.;
  • Participates in discussions on railway designs and timetabling with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in civil, mechanical, or systems engineering at an accredited university;
  • Proficient with Excel and with other dataprocessing tools or programming languages;
  • Interested in and motivated to learn railway timetabling and simulation software;
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work under limited supervision;
  • Selfmotivated and have a strong interest in rail operation.
