Job Purpose
The Shipper / Receiver is a skilled, organized and energetic individual capable of verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, performs final inspection then prepares items for shipment to the highest accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities _
but not limited to:_
The Shipper / Receiver performs some or all of the following duties:
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, work orders, or other record, matches to what was requested on our PO to vendors.
- Creating receiver in the ERP system and coordinating with stake holder once the goods are received.
- Work with Inventory controller and production in getting the good to the correct designated location of the goods received,
- Follows method of shipment stated on work order;
- Prepare skids for the shipment, work with various carrier and manager for booking the freight shipment for the customer.
- Affixes shipping labels and or BOL at standardized area on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons;
- Assist with Quality Control checks and analysis
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers;
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with superior to rectify damages and shortages then routes items to departments;
- Inspect product prior to boxing to ensure it satisfies work order;
- Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from truck trailers, shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area;
- Works with drivers engaged in receiving and shipping freight, documentation, waybill preparation, assessing charges, and preparing packing slip for shipments;
- On occasion you may be asked to assist in an offsite belt installation.
- Preparation of all necessary shipping documentation needed for international shipments.
- Pickup and delivery requirements for CCBI facilities, as needed. Applicable only after the probation period is over.
- Assist in production departments when available, as needed.
- Other duties as warranted.
Qualifications
- OSSD or equivalency
- Previous experience in a related clerical occupation or warehouse worker, an asset
- Must have 12 years shipping / receiving experience, ideally in the Conveyor Belting/Manufacturing environment
- A driver's licence with a clean driving record is required
- A forklift certification an asset
- Strong communication, presentation, organizational and leadership skills
- Intermediate MS Office
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, an asset
- Effective use of technology, instruments, tools and information systems
- Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, teamwork, time management and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand for repetitive periods of time, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds
You will be working in the production manufacturing areas where you will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals to include the moderate noise level and you are required to protect yourself accordingly.
Pay:
$23.00-$24.00 per hour
