Bridge enforcement investigations and digital solution teams to provide strategic expertise in creating technology solutions. Utilize diverse data and market data to protect investors and maintain financial stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical subject matter expert between Enforcement and Information Services.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of detection algorithms and data analytics tools.
- Provide specialized guidance on trade data analysis and the proactive identification of market abuse.
- Collaborate with Data Science and Market Abuse teams to align investigative tools with regulatory priorities.
- Offer expert testimony in legal proceedings regarding analytics techniques, as required.
- Maintain market intelligence on AI, data analytics trends, and capital market developments through international outreach.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Financial Engineering, Information Management, Economics, Law, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: 8–10 years in data analytics and investigations (or equivalent combination), with experience in a market abuse investigator or stocks/derivatives trading surveillance/compliance role.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of capital market operations, trading, and Canadian securities legislation, including insider trading and market manipulation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing large datasets and creating frameworks to visualize complex patterns.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship management skills.
