Position Summary


As an Associate Product Manager in our Plant Operations group, you will support the activities of the Product Manager and over time gain the manufacturing and design knowledge/experience required to grow into a Product Manager or other technical position at CBN.

What You Will Do

  • Understand customer contracts and commitments indepth and communicate the scope of projects to manufacturing teams for each project;
  • Create and be accountable for the dockets that define & communicate manufacturing requirements to the specialists that carry out the work;
  • Attend and assist in running meetings, taking notes and creating and disseminating summaries for a range of different meeting types, including : manufacturability reviews, product kickoffs, product performance review meetings; and lessons learned reviews.
  • Coordinate materials, resources, and instructions required to manufacture a product at each stage to ensure production timelines are met;
  • Attend pressside approvals and based on design or reference standards provide signoff authorizing production runs;
  • Nurture quality control between processes and departments by performing approvals, spot checks, and completing audit trends sheets at regular intervals;
  • Maintain a current and uptodate repository of reference documents for production staff and security and ensure that any outdated documents are identified and removed;
  • Identify, investigate, contain and, if necessary, escalate quality issues in a timely manner;
  • Support the development of forecasts and schedules for our bank note products as they make their way through the lifecycle: planning, design, testing, manufacturing, quality control, shipping, and logistics;
  • Coordinate trials and tests of new products or features, providing feedback in written reports and work with the Quality Control Laboratory to develop and improve controls to match reference standards throughout production runs;
  • Arrange shipping and logistics of product between production facilities and the customer; and
  • Various other duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Experience

  • University degree or college diploma in printing technology, manufacturing or engineering
  • 23 years of working in a production environment within the print industry
  • Project management experience specifically surrounding scheduling and prioritization
Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in MS 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, etc.)

Mandatory Requirements

  • Ability to work weekends.
  • Ability to work on an oncall basis and overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to travel throughout North America approx. 58 weeks/year.
Security Clearance Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
