Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Manufacturing Expectation

  • Diagnose technical problems on truck components requiring repair. This can include cranes, dump bodies, salters/sanders, trailers, other vocational trucks
  • Able to troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, trace, and correct issues
  • Performing electrical wiring tasks, some complex in nature on the vehicles
- installing add on equipment including lift gates, etc.

  • Performing standard service repairs to the truck bodies of our customers with mínimal supervision
  • Use of a variety hand and pneumatic tools to disassemble and install truck bodies to truck chassis.
  • Brake testing equipment operation.
  • Trailer safety certification.
  • Use of overhead cranes as required
  • Use portable hand tools and measuring equipment consistent with industry standards.
  • Use various welding and cutting equipment including mig, tig, plasma and oxy/acetylene.
  • The ability to weld steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
  • Truck frame length modifications.
  • Ensure fit, finish and function to meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Perform inspection of your own work.
  • Complete Quality Inspection Documentation as required.
  • Work effectively and efficiently to complete your work within the job standard.
  • Use Lean Principles to eliminate waste in your area and become more efficient.
  • Contribute to cost reduction ideas and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

Major Requirements and Competencies

  • At least 23 years' experience with the use of powered hand tools.
  • Experience with automotive electronic troubleshooting
  • Prior experience with hydraulic service or installation
  • Experience in the fitting/welder discipline
  • Able to read drawings work instructions and blueprints.
  • Ability to be certified in forklifts and cranes operations.
