We are seeking an
Investment Consultant to join our team in Toronto, or the surrounding areas.

As part of our Actuarial and Investment Consulting Group, and reporting directly to the Vice President, you will lead the investment specialty and develop solutions in support of our clients and Group Retirement Solutions (GRS) Account Executives and Consultants.

The Investment Consultant will have the following responsibilities: Planning and Budgeting

Develop a plan for all known investment reports and projects.
Determine team support needed to complete projects on time and on budget.
Track revenues and support the invoicing process.
Provide support to ensure the division meets its growth and service requirements.

Client and Customer Service

Retain existing clients through effective and professional service and support.
Develop and maintain positive relations with existing clients and client decision makers.
Promote and maintain customer satisfaction and manage customer expectations.
Deal with customer concerns or issues and ensure that the client lead and Designate is made aware.
Recommend, develop and implement measures to help manage clients at risk.

Process Improvement

Become an expert with the tools and software being used.
Automate the investment reports as much as possible and minimize manual inputs.
Enhance quality control process and checks to ensure highest level of accuracy.
Utilize a continuous improvement process mindset from quarter to quarter.
Ensure any leads are identified and communicated to the appropriate team members

Investment Research

Meet with asset managers as necessary to enhance the team's knowledge and awareness of what's happening with a fund's performance or current events.
Stay current with market developments and key economic events and provide updates to teammates, GRS, and others as relevant.
Provide research and analysis support to Consultants on specialty investments and funds.

To be successful as an Investment Consultant with People Corporation, you will need**:

The Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) in good standing, or actively in progress
Exceptionally polished communication skills
Excellent clientfocus and professional acumen
Experience with performance monitoring for Defined Contribution Pension Plans
Experience with SIPP compliance for defined benefit pension plans
Experience interacting with, and participating in meetings, with investment managers
Exposure to both traditional asset classes as well as alternative asset classes
Ability to work well independently and collaborate in a team
A track record of mentoring junior colleagues to deliver high quality work
Solid working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Familiar with Morningstar and eVestment
Bilingual (French and English) is an asset
