Job Summary:

The CNC Router Operator/Programmer position is responsible for assisting on production floor to meet deadlines and provide continuous support to maintain quality and productivity.

Sets up and operates machines properly to make components.

Duties include studying blueprints and creating the design, cutting wood, plastic, metal, or any material requested, and performing regular maintenance on their machinery.

The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.


Responsibilities:

• Make sure steps are completed in the production process and production app, following the detailed work instructions.
• Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
• Set up and operate all equipment required.
• Cutting wood formers before the metal detector cases arrive.
• Wok close to purchasing department to make sure we have enough inventory to run CNC router.
• Follow drawings and dimensions.
• Work close to Engineering and Production office team
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts (Productivity)

• Quality Check

• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
• Read and understand blueprint designs
• Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment
• Complete routine maintenance of their machinery
• Enter all relevant codes to specify the feed, speed, and cut of any toolpath for a CNC
• Let supervisor know of any problems with a machine or product
• Lift and carry packages occasionally up to 30 lbs.
• Prepare material on CNC for cutting
• Measure detector cases before entering into the CNC software
• Help other departments in achieving production targets
• Other duties as assigned

Academic/Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
• CNC router course

Required Skills/Experience:

• 35 years of experience as CNC router operator
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and resultsdriven approach
• Good communication abilities
• Hard working and able to take direction
• Able to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices

Working Conditions:

• Onsite required (Monday to Friday)
• Dusty and noisy shop environment
