Heidelberg Materials is seeking an
Operations Reliability Manager to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta.

As an Operations Reliability Manager, you will report to the Plant Manager and will support reliability improvements plant-wide at our Edmonton Cement Plant.


What You'll Get To Do

  • Responsible for reliability efforts for the plant and coordinate those activities required to meet the plant and corporation's reliability objectives including the safety of the plant resources
  • Oversee analysis process of failures and problems to determine the potential causes and make recommendations for changes in plant routines with the intent of preventing future similar occurrences. Oversees the implementation of agreed upon recommendations to minimize future failures
  • Oversee plant automation (interlocks, logic changes)
  • Assist in defining criticality levels for all plant and equipment and assist formulate maintenance strategy to continually improve the reliable operation of plant and equipment
  • Assist in maintaining critical asset map
  • Assist with the maintenance budget and CAPEX
  • Review maintenance plans within the SAP PM system to optimize their effectiveness & frequency
  • Review plan for equipment inspections and overhauls and systematically address gaps that limit equipment reliability
  • Assess and obtain the technical expertise to assist the production, process, and maintenance departments in the optimization of equipment and processes to enhance operational efficiency
  • Assist maintenance function with:
  • Predictive maintenance programs, i.e., vibration and oil analysis
  • Monitoring and trending key performance indicators for equipment reliability
  • Preparing reports with recommendations for improvements
  • Work closely with maintenance supervisory staff in the coordination of annual shutdown and weekly PMs
  • Review critical spares and develop a preventative maintenance program for stock materials
  • Assist plant with digitalization
  • Manage SPS process to prevent reoccurrence of incidents
  • Review SPS actions on a monthly basis and ensure completion with support from APM and Maintenance Manager
  • Support safety investigations as required
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, Cement plant experience required
  • Solid understanding of preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in problemsolving and creativity, strategic thinking, and decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and motive others
  • Project management skills
  • Highlevel competency with SAP
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Work Environment:


  • Role operates in an office and manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions
  • We are a drugfree work environment
