We are headquartered in Thunder Bay with current site operations in Greenstone and along the northern shore of Lake Superior.


We are looking for an experienced
Lead Project Coordinator to plan and supervise a wide range of infrastructure construction projects from start to finish.

You will organize and oversee construction activities and ensure they are completed to specifications, on budget and that all aspects are undertaken in a safe manner.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clientele engineers, consultants, sub contractors etc. to determine the specifications of the project
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Prepare and submit project budget quotation estimates
  • Plan, schedule, organize, direct, control and evaluate projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Handle project administration, including cost control, schedule control and change order administration
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks
  • Supervise the work of equipment operators, laborers, mechanics etc. and provide guidance and direction as needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Develop and implement quality control standards
  • Make recommendation for process improvements including the development and implementation of policies and procedures

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience as a project manager
  • Indepth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with all health and safety standards
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • Civil and/or natural resources management experience considered an asset
  • Experience with access construction including water crossing and bridge installation
  • Vegetation management practices
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment safety, effectiveness, limitations as well as costs
  • Process improvement training considered an asset

Work Conditions


The Lead Project Coordinator will perform his/her duties primarily in the field with a portion of the time indoors preparing quotation budgets, reports, and meeting with clientele.

The field duties require travel throughout various locations of Northern Ontario and performed outdoors in remote settings. The individual must have a valid G-class driver's license.


Job Types:

Salary:
$70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
