    Position Overview

    Under the direction of the Plant Manager, Operations Lead, Strategic Manufacturing Programs is responsible for coordinating and executing the full integration of new products and manufacturing processes into the plant. This role serves as a key resource for production, maintenance, and quality teams while leading initiatives that strengthen process robustness, operational reliability, and product quality. Acting as a central point of collaboration within Manufacturing Operations, the Operations Lead participates in cross-functional programs that bring together Research & Development, Marketing, Purchasing, and Supply Chain. The position ensures seamless alignment between strategic program objectives and plant-level execution. The ultimate objective of this role is to drive operational readiness, improve manufacturing performance, and enable the successful launch and sustainability of new products within the facility.

    Key responsibilities

    • Lead the full integration of new products into the plant, ensuring smooth transition from project development to steady-state production.
    • Plan and define manufacturing processes in collaboration with plant leadership, engineering, and production teams to support the introduction of new products.
    • Adjust and optimize manufacturing processes to reflect new methods, technologies, or design changes, ensuring alignment with operational best practices.
    • Coordinate closely with Quality, Operations, Product Management, R&D, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless alignment between the project plan and real-world execution in the plant.
    • Identify and close gaps between project deliverables and day-to-day operations, ensuring all requirements (equipment, training, documents, quality controls, materials) are ready for successful launch.
    • Support plant readiness activities such as process validation, training, documentation updates, and production trials.
    • Monitor performance during ramp-up, address issues quickly, and implement corrective or preventive actions to ensure process robustness and product quality.
    • Act as the operations representative in cross-functional project teams to ensure manufacturability, capacity, and operational impacts are understood and addressed.
    • Ensure health and safety during new product integration, making sure all process changes and equipment updates protect the well-being of all team members.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production workflows.
    • Experience with process integration, industrialization, and product launch.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead plant-level initiatives and drive adoption of new processes.
    • Experience in aluminum and PVC extrusion design, injection molded component design a definite asset
    • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Language: Bilingual in French and English
