- Monitoring barge delivery of hog and chips through daily counts.
- Insuring first in, first out as much as possible to keep demurrage to a minimum.
- Monitors and maintain pile build to maximize available space for offloading.
- Gives direction on maintaining mechanical and housekeeping of all conveyor belts from the off links through to the chip silos including chip screening systems.
- Works closely with garage supervisor to ensure reliability and availability of offload equipment.
- Maintains and updates all policy and procedures as well as lock outs and CSE's
- Supports departmental training objectives.
- Responsible for the warehousing, planning, organizing and directing of shipments of 450,000 ADT per year of pulp.
- Management of chemical handling/storage, the HSPP railway system, and the janitorial department to meet all standards of the Industrial Hygiene Division of Work Safe BC. He/she will manage the waste landfill site to meet all standards and requirements of the Waste Management Branch.
- Will demonstrate Safety & Environmental leadership to attain a goal of zero injuries and zero incidents and maintain all ISO standards.
- Ensure a consistent provision of manpower and mobile equipment to the pulp and maintenance departments and Millstores receiving.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a manufacturing/production environment is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years' of demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills including problem-solving, conflict management and coaching.
- Must be proficient with computers, including extensive experience in MS Office
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Experience with financial planning & budgeting is considered an asset.

Summary:
The role of the Fibre Distribution & Logistics Manager encompasses overseeing the secure operation of the Chip Line and Shipping Departments, guaranteeing the attainment of budgeted production and loading rates. Collaboration with the corporate Fibre Supply team is integral to ensure the adequacy of fibre supply for the mill, with adjustments made as necessary. Additionally, the Fibre Distribution & Logistics Manager works closely with the Maintenance and Operations teams to fulfill departmental objectives, focusing on continuous improvement in safety, operational procedures, cost reduction, and productivity. They are also tasked with troubleshooting alongside Shift Supervisors, managing both variable and fixed costs, and coordinating maintenance shutdowns.
