Atlas Dewatering Corporation, established in 1946, has almost seventy years of experience in the construction industry and is a leader in construction dewatering and environmental groundwater/surface water management.

Atlas also specializes in bypass pumping systems, providing pump rentals, sales and service. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship and service with knowledgeable and dedicated staff in both dewatering and bypass projects.


Summary of Function:

Must have the ability to interact and communicate with clients, government agencies, and within the team to be successful. The Environmental Department Head will be responsible for client files and ensure attentive follow-up. Assisting with pumping system design is also a function of this position. The health and safety of employees, clients and property is a key aspect of this job. This position reports directly to the Vice President but will generally coordinate all field works with the Operations Manager.


The applicant should be proficient in the use of PCs, tablet PCs, and familiar with MS Office, especially MS Excel, MS Word.

The applicant should have experience in GIS and AutoCAD. Knowledge of water / soil chemical analysis testing is beneficial. Furthermore the applicant should be able to quickly learn new software as needed. Experience with common field equipment such as GPS units, water level indicators, and flow meters is mandatory. WHMIS and first aid training would be considered assets.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with design of dewatering systems and preparation of dewatering drawings (layout and cross section, etc.)
  • Design and complete pumping tests, pumping test reports
  • Install Atlas monitoring equipment as required on dewatering and bypass projects.
  • Liaise with Atlas field staff for coordination of installation, monitoring and removal of all Atlas' equipment.
  • Locate by GPS in accordance with MOE guidelines, Atlas' dewatering systems for well record submission.
  • Compile and submit to clients and MOE where applicable, completed well records.
  • Interact with engineers, clients, consultants and government agencies.
  • Evaluate and aid in the design of temporary pumping systems.
  • Prepare flow monitoring reports.
  • Prepare water quality monitoring reports.
  • Prepare yearly Total Volume Pumped reports for each project.
  • Enter flow data on MOE Water Taking Reporting site (EASR/PTTW).
  • Establish and maintain current and potential client relationships.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality with Atlas and Atlas' client base (existing and new).
  • Develop and implement procedures for environmental compliance that will further Atlas' abilities and client base.
  • Develop and implement procedures for environmental scopes of work that will further Atlas' abilities, stature and client base.
  • Oversee and direct junior field technicians.
  • Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of monitoring equipment and services.
  • Coordinate monitoring schedule based upon contract.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars and tradeshows to showcase products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Technical college/university graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Full hydrogeological knowledge and background
  • Ability to utilize hydrogeological computer software such as WinFlow and MODFLOW.
  • Knowledge of environmental science including groundwater contaminates.
  • Knowledge of groundwater treatment system means and methods.
  • Must be able to interpret and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to create, compose and edit written materials.

Qualifications and Experience continued:


  • Must have strong computer skills (including Word and Excel).
  • Must have experience in GIS and AutoCAD software.
  • Must have effective organization and planning skills.
  • Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
  • Must have a G license in good standing and vehicle to attend site visits and meetings.
  • Previous construction experience would be beneficial.
  • Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients.
  • Trade Shows and Training will require occasional air travel.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Must have solid job references and a clean criminal record and accept the requirement for substance abuse testing.

Salary:
$50,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
