Job Overview
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform the biweekly payroll (Cerdian knowledge is considered an asset)
- Full cycle recruitment and onboarding of hourly employees
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with employees, employer and head office
- Stay uptodate with relevant employment laws, regulations and industry best practices and ensuring HR compliance by maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports
- Implement / analyze yearly strategic goals, wage reviews and employee surveys
- Conduct benefit administration including, enrollment, rate changes, terminations and bill adjustments
- Provide guidance on internal policies and procedures to employees and employer
- Facilitate the Health and Safety program (JHS L2 certification considered an asset)
- Understanding of ESA, WSIB and OHSA laws
- Conduct training of front line workers such as leadership development
- Facilitate employee relation initiatives by assisting with employee engagement activities, surveys and recognition programs.
- Maintaining WSIB records, RTW programs and LTD claims
- Administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, preparing HRrelated correspondences, maintaining employee databases and files.
Preferred Education, Skills, and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- 23 years' experience in a similar role
- Postsecondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration
- CHRP designation is an asset
- Working knowledge of Ontario ESA, WSIB, OHSA
- Selfstarter and self sufficient
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Organized / good planning and analytical skills
- Experience in a production environment would be an asset
- Proficient computer skills
