Summary:


In a context of transformation to a mature industrial site, SKF Magnetic Mechatronics based in Calgary (Alberta) is looking for an enthusiastic Controller with a strong accounting experience and excellent communication skills.

You will own the business plan and forecasts as well as the cost control KPI and process.

Part of CleanTech and delivering the future solutions to reduce electricity consumption and carbon emissions, SKF Magnetic Mechatronics is the world leader in the design and production of active magnetic bearings.

Our solutions are used for semi-conductor manufacturing and in energy extraction, transport and storage processes (natural gas, hydrogen, etc). SKF Magnetic Mechatronics run 3 production facilities in Vernon (France), Calgary (Alberta) and Tanger (Morocco).


Job Duties:


  • Responsible of the statutory company accounts.
  • Serve as the company representative on regulatory issues to ensure all legal documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate any auditing conducted by third parties to ensure effective resolution and swift closure of auditing activities.
  • Analyze the monthly accounts and balance sheet and ensure transparency and clarity.
  • Transfer pricing write up for SKF Magnetic Bearings Calgary (preparation for tax return).
  • Signing officer for tax returns produced by SKF tax department.
  • Prepare and submit the claim for SR&ED tax incentives for SKF Magnetic Bearings Calgary.
  • Develop or adapt company cost control process in order to identify and reducing business expenses and increase profits company.
  • Lead budget development, progress measurement, cost forecasting and preparing monthly internal and client cost reports on large to complex size projects.
  • Implement KPI, adapt the existing procedures in order to be inline with the HQ one, prepare monthly analysis of results plus update monthly forecasts.
  • Together with the project manager, oversee the operational projects from a finance perspective, track progress and KPIs and take corrective actions in order to proactively identify the negatives impacts and meet budgeting goals.
  • Oversee revenue project financial management to ensure effective milestone planning to best maximize percentage completion revenue recognition.
  • Evaluating project requirements to provide vital optimized resources from a cost perspective.
  • Ensuring the group reporting using the imposed IT and control systems.
  • Responsible to control and monitor projects development, including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
  • Monitor inventory KPIs and participate to reconciliations after inventory count.
  • Participate in future transfer of M3 to cloud based interface.
  • Prepare internal others specify costs reports or indicators for the management team.
  • Keep a continuous improvement mindset: propose and implement changes to increase the efficiency of the organization and its processes, to reduce nonadded value and optimize added value.
  • Perform your activities in compliance with the SKF code of conduct, the group's EHS policy and Quality Management System.
  • Eventually, in function of the recruited profile, others administrative activities can be included such as the customers service management.

Requirements:


  • Degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or a related field or several years' experience in a business or finance environment.
  • Progressively responsible accounting experience, costs management, supervisor experience.
  • Knowledge of how SKF Accounting Processes are structured and how they capture business events and are then translated and consolidated into IRP and ERP reporting.
  • Awareness of legal requirements and their implications.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of how accounting systems are structured
