Job summary

The Advanced Care Paramedic provides immediate treatment and transportation of sick and injured individuals to appropriate medical facilities. They operate within the knowledge and scope of the Advanced Care practice,
and provide leadership throughout each shift using specified educational training.

Duties

The ACP maintains personal knowledge skills in accordance with Alberta Occupational Competency Profile AOCP to deliver optimum patient care stocks maintains MHS West vehicles in readiness at all times works in hazardous environments for safety stabilization punctual responds ready on start shift acts professionally handles conflict situations follows chain command creates completed patient reports maintains confidentiality refers media requests general manager completes incident report forms participates Quality Assurance Program develops plan maintaining improving self-directed growth must good physical health no disabilities impair duties considerable lifting movement heavy patients extricate patients hazardous environments advise supervisor injuries impair duties actively participates public awareness community education programs approved MHS West maintains uniform hygienic grooming standards exposed violent behaviour traffic hazards communicable diseases extreme weather conditions work present considerable hazards
