Job Title:
Manufacturing Associate I - Leigh Business Unit

Status:
Full Time

Reporting to:
BUL - Leigh Business Unit

Location: 1080 Morrison Drive, Ottawa, ON

Pay:
$18.05 /hour

Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:00 - 15:30

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Perform repetitive manual tasks
Testing with simple equipment (e.g. go/no go gauges, calipers, etc.)
Operation of various machine shop equipment (including grinders, manual and CNC machine tools or hand tools, measuring instruments) or other manual operations
Verifies part conformity using precise measuring equipment and part drawings
Work to continually improve processes
Participate in Lean Manufacturing activities
Able to do some basic set ups of a less complex nature
Assist in training other operators or assemblers
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Mentor and train new employees.

Job Requirements, Knowledge and Skills:

A minimum of 12 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge and experience working with measuring tools for inspecting parts.
Willing and able to work alone, and in a team environment
A solid work ethic
Strong desire for quality workmanship in a production environment
Able to pace oneself in order to hit daily or hourly production targets
Good attendance and reliability
Able to read/interpret drawings, schematics, shop manuals
Able to take input, then make logical decisions, with the ability to describe decision making process, when needed
Assembly experience an asset
