    Role Summary

    • Continually improve flow form and press tooling operation on the shift to minimize down-time events, changeover events and quality events.
    • Participate in development of prototype tooling and CNC part programs for prototype Flow Form parts.
    • Assist Production with Flow Form machine tooling and operation related issues.

    Key Qualifications/Requirements

    • Currently enrolled in the 2nd or final year of the apprenticeship for Tool & Die or Machinist or have completed the apprenticeship for Tool & Die or Machinist or equivalent college Diploma in a related discipline.
    • Must have 3 years' experience as CNC Setup / mechanical experience
    • Able to read and revise tooling, part and process blueprints
    • Knowledge of Geometric tolerances and dimensioning preferred
    • Good communication skills and must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
    • Must be computer literate
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision. Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills
    • Must be flexible to work overtime including weekends
    • Must be able to lift and carry 60lbs

    Key Responsibilities

    • Control production and prototype tooling for the Flow Form machines and presses.
    • Develop CNC programs for production and prototype Flow Form parts.
    • Ensure that all tooling is dimensionally acceptable to produce a quality part.
    • Maintain necessary tooling inventories by repairing damaged tooling and ordering new tooling as required.
    • Work together with Engineering to ensure tooling blueprints reflect the latest tooling revision.
    • Work together with Engineering to develop and implement prototype tooling.
    • Provide input for the development and manufacture of prototype Flow Form/toolroom parts.
    • CNC program development and adjustment.
    • Assist Production with Flow Form machine tooling and operation issues.
    • Instruct production in the correct operation of the Flow Form machine.
    • Oversee resolution of Flow Form Quality issues and concerns (1st offs, tool changes, etc.).
    • Provide support to both the Toolroom and Flow form

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strive to optimize tooling life and cost value.
    • Perform other assignments from time to time as managements so directs.
    • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the supervisor.
    • Store equipment and tools properly when not in use.
    • Adhere to standards and rules described in the Employee Handbook, conduct in a manner consistent with those practices leading to the safe operation of the division and displaying leadership, concerns and a safe work ethics.
    • Perform other duties as required within his/her ability.
    • Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
    • Comply and participate in monthly Health & Safety quiz.
    • Comply and participate with suggestions and Continuous Improvement Program at MSM.
