As Beach Grove Golf Club (BGGC) continues to build on our success, we are currently recruiting a seasoned senior leader to manage all aspects of the operation and drive toward our long-term vision.


Role Overview


Reporting to the Club's Board of Directors, the Club Manager is a proven senior leader accountable for engaging the membership and leading the BGGC managing team and staff to deliver exceptional service to its members.

The Club Manager understands the private golf club business.

Beyond overseeing the golf operations at BGGC, the Club Manager is responsible for the success of the food and beverage operations and membership marketing including acquisition, retention, and the entire membership journey.

The Club Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the club.

As the BGGC Club Manager, you oversee the overall P&L of the club, and investigate different financing models to support its long-term financial sustainability.

The Club Manager will establish short and long-term organizational goals, plans, and policies.

Through effective engagement and alignment with the Board of Directors and Committees, the Club Manager will excel above and beyond the status quo and continually improve the member experience at Beach Grove Golf Club.


Reporting Structure


The Club Manager reports to the Board of Directors through the Chair of the Board and provides support and guidance to various standing and special committees comprised of club members.

All department heads report directly to the Club Manager.
This is the most senior staff role at Beach Grove Golf Club.

Key Accountabilities:


Operations Management

  • Develop and Implement a comprehensive, integrated annual operations plan and budget in concert with the strategic plan and report to the membership.
  • Define overall objectives, marketing plans, operational and capital budgets, and evaluation processes.
  • Oversee the Club premises as it relates to the golf course, golf shop, maintenance and function of the facility including ensuring adequate insurance and health and safety processes in all areas of the club.
  • Ensure the Cub complies with statutory and local government regulations.

Strategic Planning & Project Management

  • Partner with the Board to develop and execute the longterm strategic plans supported by shortterm objectives and datadriven decisions.
  • Undertake and lead strategic projects across all areas and departments of the club that support positive change.
  • Leverage the annual membership survey results to enhance the overall member experience.

Financial Management

  • Protect and enhance the fiscal health o fBGGC by creating and maintaining a tightly controlled administrative and fiscal organization while working within the approved budget parameters.
  • Present to the membership the budget, results and plans at membership meetings including the Annual General Meeting.

Human Resources

  • Manage the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of all Club staff with focus on member experience, continuous improvement, and succession planning
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and motivation to all Club management and staff in the spirit of building and maintaining a highperformance team.
  • Conduct all annual performance appraisals for department heads and direct reports.

Food & Beverage

  • Inspire, mentor, and provide "handson" leadership to the F&B heads, and partner with the House Committee to ensure that the menu and service standards delivered exceed the expectations of the membership with focus on service, consistency, and quality.
  • Monitor the F&B operation to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and foodsafe practices.
  • Ensure the F&B operation is working within approved financial parameters.

Golf Course Management

  • Develop annual Golf Course budgets in consultation with the Golf Course Chair, Committee and Golf Course Superintendent.
  • Monitor the Golf Course operation to ensure a high standard of work ethic to meet short
- and long-term goals.

  • Ensure the Golf Course operation is working within approved budget.

Marketing / Communications

  • Engage with the staff and the Board to develop solid marketing and sales programs designed to generate optimum membership levels.
  • Ensure that effective communications programs are in place and build strong relationships within the community, the Board, club members and all staff.
  • The Club Manager is the ultimate "face" of the BGGC and is expected to utilize various communication vehicles and touchpoints to promote Club activities, events and provide timely updates.
