    Description

    The Siteimprove AI and Data Science team is responsible for developing, testing, and deploying AI models and ensuring their reliability. Additionally, the team collaborates with the Data Foundation team to integrate and support the end-to-end lifecycle of data needed for training and inference. Our team is seeking a principal data scientist who is a broad-minded problem solver to play a critical, leading role in leveraging data-driven insights to inform business strategies, drive innovation, and deliver actionable recommendations.

    What you will be doing

    • Lead the exploration and analysis of complex datasets to extract valuable insights and trends that inform business decisions.
    • Develop and deploy advanced statistical and machine learning models to solve challenging business problems.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and contribute to the design and collection of relevant data.
    • Utilize data visualization tools to communicate findings and actionable insights to stakeholders.
    • Mentor junior/intermediate data scientists, providing guidance and promoting a culture of learning and excellence.
    • Participate in defining and shaping the data science strategy and roadmap for the company.
    • Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and evaluate model performance.
    • Explore and incorporate cutting-edge techniques and technologies to enhance predictive and prescriptive analytics.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy and monitor models in production environments.
    • Stay updated with emerging trends, research, and best practices in AI and data science.
    • Contribute to the development of data-driven products and solutions that add value to our customers.
    • Articulate ideas to teammates, peers, and leaders, providing details and supporting the ideas with data where applicable. Incorporate others' input and feedback and strive to find common ground.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    What we will require of you

    • 10+ years of professional (post-college) experience in data science, computer science, or a related field; preferably with a Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
    • Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data modeling.
    • Understanding of cloud-native services, including AWS-managed offerings (e.g., AWS ML Specialty Certificate).
    • Strong knowledge of machine learning models and systems.
    • Proficiency in the Python programming language for data analysis and modeling.
    • Strong experience with data manipulation, visualization, and analysis tools (e.g., pandas, matplotlib, seaborn).
    • Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in real-world applications.
    • Knowledge and experience with generative AI and prompt engineering.
    • Familiarity with modern data processing and storage paradigms.
    • Strong communication skills and highly effective collaboration abilities.
    • Ability to translate complex analytical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex business challenges.
    • Willingness to travel as needed.

    What we will love about you

    CAD 153,000-240,000 per-year-salary

    Base pay will depend on the position, individual qualifications, market, and other operational business needs.
