    Description

    The Opportunity:

    The Aquatics Program Leader 2 is responsible for theimplementation of aquatic programs and services, in a safe and efficientfacility, through the coordination of required human and physical resources. This position is required to meet the minimums of this position and have at least 3-5 years instructing aquatic leadership programs in order to oversee the aquatics area. This position will have specific facility relatedresponsibilities depending on location the position is assigned. (Recreation,Dawe, Michener or Collicutt Centre)

    As our preferred candidate, youwill have:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent – Minimum 18 years of age
  • Possession of the following current certifications –ability to renew qualifications as required:
  • National Lifeguard Certificate – Pool Option
  • National Lifeguard Certificate – Waterpark Option(Collicutt Centre)
  • *Waterpark Option (G.H. Dawe Centre)
  • Intermediate First Aid/CPR Basic Rescuer (level C CPR)& AED
  • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
  • Lifesaving Instructor/Examiner with CPR & AEDInstructor/Examiner
  • National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiner
  • Must possess 1 of the following:
  • Lifesaving Instructor Trainer
  • Lifesaving Society Swim Trainer
  • Intermediate First Aid Instructor
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience lifeguarding.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience instructing aquaticleadership programs.
  • Ability to handle public relations responsibilitieseffectively and thoroughly and to be firm and tactful in maintaining pooldiscipline and to respond calmly to emergencies.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, andlistening skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all guests andaquatic team members.
  • Ability to work in conditions that may be noisy andmildly unpleasant.
  • Ability to work weekends and shift work hours.

    Remuneration:

    $31.33 to $33.17 per hour.

    Hours of Work:

    80 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Shifts may include amix of evenings, weekdays, weekends and early mornings as Aquatic Programmingand staff supervision/training are required.

    Additional Information:

    The term of this position is anticipated to beapproximately 14 months.
