The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the execution of Choice Properties' marketing and communications strategy and assisting in the development of new programs that meaningfully contribute to the organization's brand awareness and reputation.

You will work collaboratively across departments including the Leasing, Development, and Sustainability Teams.

Responsibilities:


  • External Communications
a. Work with the Senior Specialist, Marketing & Communications to curate content on all social media platforms.

This is inclusive of but not limited to:

  • Drafting social media posts, managing department approvals of content, and publishing via the social media management tool
  • Assist with competitor analysis to understand industry social media trends and recommend ideas for social media campaigns
  • Create monthly social media performance reports and articulate findings and analytical insights to Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications
b.

Manage content on our external website including:

  • Recommending changes to the structure and content of our website to increase call to actions, and drafting new website copy as needed
  • Updating website content (e.g., press releases), as requested by various departments, in a timely manner including obtaining French translation from the thirdparty vendor
  • Facilitating departmental reviews of website content on a semiannual basis
  • Working with our Leasing Team to obtain new property photography on an annual basis for our website and marketing collateral
  • Working with our IT Team to coordinate technical enhancements to the external website
  • Working with a thirdparty vendor to ensure all content is AODA compliant
  • Internal Communications
a. Prepare engaging and visually appealing presentations for quarterly colleague town halls, liaising with members of our Senior Leadership Team

b.

Manage content on our intranet including:

  • Recommending changes to the structure and content based on colleague feedback
  • Updating content (e.g., internal policies/procedures, templates, training material, photo library etc.), as requested by various departments, in a timely manner including obtaining French translation from thirdparty vendor
  • Facilitating departmental reviews of intranet content on a semiannual basis
  • Working with our IT Team to coordinate technical enhancements to intranet
  • Liaising with various departments to design internal resources (e.g., employee orientation packages, tenant guides, tenant communications)
  • Event Planning
a.

Lead the planning of various events including but not limited to:


  • Supporting quarterly investor conference calls, and the Annual General Meeting of Unitholders, working alongside our Investor Relations Team
  • Community events, working alongside our Social Impact and Property Management Teams

Qualifications:

  • University or college degree in business, marketing, or communications
  • Minimum 24 years of experience in a coordinator or specialist capacity within a marketing or communications function
  • Project management experience must be able to develop project briefs and status reports, be comfortable managing multiple projects and stakeholders, and have a high attention to detail
  • Strong communicator and storyteller experienced in corporate copywriting, presentation development, and highly proficient in PowerPoint
  • Experience in event planning with a passion for seeing things being brought to fruition
  • Keen eye for design with a willingness to learn photography and/or video editing
  • Graphic design experience is an asset (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and/or video editing software)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problemsolving skills
  • Exemplifies an entrepreneurial spirit and thrives in a fastpaced, collaborative environment
