As a Finance Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Finance, and can be based in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, or Montreal.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our office.

What the day will look like


We are proud of our group's ability to support our business leaders and this role will lead evolving financial analysis requests from the business on a national scale as well the bigger business picture.

If you want to use your strategic problem-solving skills to translate Aon's vision into practical quantitative plans, this role may be just the thing Your day-to-day responsibilities include:


  • Prepare, analyse, and report on financial status
  • Provide key insights and trends to the Business Unit Leaders and help formulate strategies to drive improved financial results
  • Access information maintained in various financial systems and databases to analyse, prepare, and present business analysis to management
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasting
  • Participate in monthly close process
  • Provide analysis to aid in achieving financial objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, tracking variances, profitability, etc.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting processes, including data collection and analysis
  • Load monthly revenue extracts from subsystem(s) to GL
  • Update and enter financial forecast into TM1 and managing invoicing process
  • Responsible for commission payment reconciliation and management of carrier receivables
  • Respond to internal adhoc requests as assigned

In this role you will be an integral part of the Canada's Finance Planning and Analysis team, a trusted advisor to regional leaders and support the Director of Finance in leading and executing on finance and business priorities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, changing environment.

You have proven credibility and integrity working with both clients and teams and driving value throughout the organization. Your role will include building talent, communicate business challenges / opportunities and demonstrating mentorship and sharing intellectual capital.


Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • FP&A experience (Forecasting, Planning and Analysis) is required
  • Minimum 7 years of Accounting/Finance experience in a corporate environment
  • Accounting designation (CA/CPA or equivalent) is good to have
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated technical accounting and finance competency to enable the creation of innovative solutions
  • Professional demeanor with positive attitude and influence on others within the organization
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with leaders to cultivate and maintain strong relationships
  • Strong presentation skills that engage a variety of audiences and cultures
  • Detail oriented but able to step back to understand and articulate the bigger picture
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize multiple projects
  • Advance skills in MS Excel including pivot table and MS query
  • Experience with Workday GL and TM1 a plusExperience in the insurance industry is an asset
