    Claims Examiner


    The Claims Examiner will be a key member of the National Insurance Operations team, reporting to our Claims Manager. You will collaborate with partners and clients to resolve property and casualty claims.

    Here Is What a Typical Day Looks Like

    • Review and interpret policy wordings and parameters to determine if coverage is in-force and triggered by the loss
    • Manage claims settlement process with independent adjusters, providing recommendations and direction for negotiation and settlement within authority provided by insurers
    • Perform in-house adjustment of claims within authority granted by provincial authorities and insurers
    • Set and maintain accurate loss and expense reserves based upon investigation and/or recommendations, including validating independent adjusters' or insurers' reserve calculations and advising of discrepancies
    • Perform business interruption calculations
    • Provide feedback to Underwriters, Risk Management, and Brokerage teams on claims frequency and physical hazards
    • Maintain and action abeyance files and payment schedules
    • Draft and distribute correspondence to insureds, insurers, third party claimants, adjusters and other industry members

    The value you bring

    • General Insurance Level 2 License required (must obtain within 6 months of hire), RIBO license preferred (must obtain within 12 months of hire)
    • Working towards your CIP or CAIB preferred
    • Minimum 5 years' experience working with Claims in the insurance industry
    • Clear professional communication, both verbal and written
    • Knowledge of MS products including Word, Excel, Outlook

    • Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week
    • Location: Remote options available in Canada
    • Compensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000
