    Each day our Software Developers get to work on exciting problems, our work term students are no different. They are treated like part of our team and get to work on the same cool problems as our Software Developers. No two days are the same, each day you'll collaborate with other Software Developers to problem solve and write code that has an impact in the real world. Our cloud-based product, Verafin, helps fight crime by stopping fraud and money laundering. Stopping the flow of this money means stopping crimes such as human trafficking, elder abuse, and drug trafficking. Our mission is to protect the world from financial crime Being a Software Developer at Verafin means getting the opportunity to have an impact on criminal activity by getting to do what you love – solve challenging problems using code.

    Role Responsibilities

  • Working in collaboration with your team, while delivering project requirements
  • Designing solutions to solve technical problems
  • Participating in code reviews to ensure quality
  • Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a university student in a Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science program (must be a registered co-op program)
  • Strong analytical skills for complex and creative problem solving
  • Experience in object-oriented software development
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; able to work closely with team members
  • Experience in a few of these areas:

  • Java
  • Experience using JavaScript, CSS, REST
  • Automated testing
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Intelligent systems, artificial intelligence and data science
  • Understanding of clean code principles
  • Distributed computing
  • Database technologies (PostrgeSQL)
  • Big data technologies
  • Data extraction, manipulation/cleansing and integration
