The individual in this position will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and learn about networking monitoring tools, equipment configuration, and systems used by various teams at Teck.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based)

Responsibilities:

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Use network monitoring tools
Conduct basic network equipment configuration
Ticketing log watch and assignment
Assist the team in project execution on site
Site engagement one to three days per week

Qualifications:

Background in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Able to integrate with the team and driven to learn
Completion of coding courses and a foundation in Networking
Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to efficiently connect with diverse team members
Ability to learn and use tools
Able to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team
Proven ability to learn innovative technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently
Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment
Able to articulate complex concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand
Basic knowledge of coding language (webbased C++, SQL) is an asset
Basic understanding of programming and database knowledge is an asset
Cisco networking fundamentals is an asset
