Role Responsibilities:


  • Conduct evidence reviews and jurisdictional scans, analyze research, identify key messages, and translate findings into accessible information and products for target audiences and decisionmaking
  • Author, coauthor, edit and produce diverse communications
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Interpret quantitative and qualitative data, identify significant results and/or themes, draw conclusions and develop evidence based products and makes evidencebased recommendations
  • Conduct webinars and roundtable activities from planning to evaluation, targeting the public, clinicians, researchers, volunteers, donors, supporters, and Muscular Dystrophy Canada colleagues
  • Write and edit lay friendly research stories and content about neuromuscular disorders research
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop videos, graphics and other collateral and ensure overall quality, consistency, and effectiveness of complex communication materials
  • Provide data and information to support the development of donor communications
  • Track outcomes of research interactions, investments and support collection of data for measures and key performance indicators
  • Act as staff support to MDC collaborations (i.e. the Neuromuscular Disease Network for Canada)
  • Support planning of annual neuromuscular conference
Minimum bachelor's degree in health sciences or strong demonstrable understanding of the field; Preferred Masters degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., health sciences, public health, policy, adult education)

2+ years' experience in health science communication

Experience conducting knowledge translation work in a health charity, public health or government setting is an asset.
