Key Competencies and Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck.
- Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
- Keeping a careful record of the stock on the warehouse management system, so that it can be located quickly.
- Operating a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely and labelled correctly.
- Organizing transfers and loading goods on to delivery vehicles.
- Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse as part of the daily routine.
- Deliver or route materials to departments, pack, seal, label, and to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools,.
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non conformance to specifications.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
