_Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a full time, Family Capacity Builder in EDMONTON to join our Collaborative Service Delivery Framework team. _This position works full time, 40 hours per week with flexibility on evenings and weekends required._

Program Overview:


The Collaborative Service Delivery Framework Program provides high quality supports to children and families directly involved with Children and Youth Services.

This position requires workers to teach parenting and communication skills, as well as support and transport children to family visitations.


Job Summary


As a Family Capacity Building Facilitator, you will be responsible to coordinate and facilitate all aspects of Family Group Conferences for the Collaborative Service Delivery program.

You will provide expertise in supporting and counseling families to help them utilize community resources and build upon present strengths to assist in successful family relations.

As a facilitator you will ensure conferences are effective and in compliance with established standards. Facilitating all aspects of Family Group Conferences. Assist in the design, development, and organization of Family Group Conferences. Coordinate conference arrangements such as location, catering, etc. Evaluate and recommend changes as required.


JOB DUTIES:

Primary job duties may include but are not limited to:
Client Service

  • Assess needs of client and referral source
  • Respond to all inquiries, referrals, and complete intake
  • Meet with family members, referral source, and all conference participants to discuss goals, process and address any concerns as required
  • Coordinate arrangements for conference days i.e. location, catering, etc
  • Facilitate process on conference day including evaluations with family members as required
  • Coordinate information sharing with/by external service providers as required
  • Ensure post conference follow up process is completed including review conferences as required
  • Word process family plans and ensure conference attendees receive copies in a timely manner.
  • Oncall to support CSD clients as part of a pod rotation.
Program Planning/Implementation

  • Assist in the design, development and organization of the FCB Program
  • Monitor the day to day operation of the program
  • Provide ongoing orientation, training and educational opportunities and support for facilitators
  • Evaluate and recommend changes and program developments to benefit families
  • Float as needed to respond to program needs. Daily rotation for emergency response, direct client support
  • Coordinate cofacilitation, monitor progress of preconference preparation and follow up
  • Collaboration and problem solving with facilitators for program updates, feedback and development
  • Update Team Leader/Program Manager on activities and developments in the program
  • Meet with Team Leader regularly as scheduled
  • Communicate to the Team Leader any concerns, changes and program needs as they occur
  • Ensure program documentation and procedures are being met
  • Prepare, monitor and/or maintain client files as required including outcome measurements
  • Develop and/or compile program manuals for facilitators and revise as required
  • Develop and update all forms required for the program
Administrative Duties

  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets, financial resources and funds
  • Submit invoices for completed conference costs
  • Ensure facilitator statistical summaries, mileage and expense forms are completed accurately on a monthly basis
  • Monitor program supplies, and program expenditures in consultation with the Team Leader
Contacts with Stakeholders

  • Represent the Program/Agency in the community in public speaking engagement, general information sharing and public relations
  • Serve on internal and/or external committees as required and/or offered
  • Promote the program within the region through orientation and/or information sessions as well as ongoing liaison with other supporting networks
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources
  • Advocate and seek out new referral sources, considering unfamiliar options

Education and Qualifications:


  • A diploma/degree in Human Services (or equivalent)
  • 2 years' experience in group facilitation or related fields
This position requires a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of families including daytime, evening and weekend work. An on-call component is required.

  • Driver's Abstract with less than six (6) demerit points current within one (1) year
  • Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search and Children's Service Intervention Record Check must be current within six (6) months
  • A reliable Vehicle, Valid Driver's License, Vehicle Registration and Third Party Liability Insurance (amount of two million)
