Description

Who is eligible? Post‐secondary students who are currently enrolled full-time in a recognized college or university with Canadian accreditation.


Responsibilities:

Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assists the Unit as needed with general administration projects.
  • Undertakes routine administrative tasks including arrangements for catering, campus deliveries, printing, photocopying, collation of documents and general clerical duties.
  • Assists Administrative Assistants as needed and provides other general assistance as needed.
  • Gathers and collates documentation to support the Unit.
  • Creates and organizes files.
  • Enters data into administration databases.
  • Conducts secondary research for special projects.
  • Interprets and applies organizational policies and workplace rules as appropriate.
  • Acts as a rolemodel of the organization's values in daily work activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Completion of secondary school and fulltime enrollment in postsecondary institution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Experience working within an academic setting would be an asset
  • Experience in office administration would be an asset
  • Experience gathering and compiling information and drafting documents
  • Experience with data entry, record maintenance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional would be an asset
  • Proficiency in WordPress would be an asset
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
  • Ability to effectively and accurately communicate technical information in writing
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to operate a PC and work comfortably in a computerized office environment
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to create, compose, edit and proofread written materials using exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems typically associated with responsibilities
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work within established organizational practices, protocols and policies
  • Ability to work in a consultative and collaborative fashion with a variety of other units to further overall school strategic objectives

Language:


  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension)
  • French/Indigenous language skills would be considered asset
