Student Assistant, Office of The President, Vice - Greater Sudbury, Canada - Northern Ontario School of Medicine
Description
Who is eligible? Post‐secondary students who are currently enrolled full-time in a recognized college or university with Canadian accreditation.
Responsibilities:
Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assists the Unit as needed with general administration projects.
- Undertakes routine administrative tasks including arrangements for catering, campus deliveries, printing, photocopying, collation of documents and general clerical duties.
- Assists Administrative Assistants as needed and provides other general assistance as needed.
- Gathers and collates documentation to support the Unit.
- Creates and organizes files.
- Enters data into administration databases.
- Conducts secondary research for special projects.
- Interprets and applies organizational policies and workplace rules as appropriate.
- Acts as a rolemodel of the organization's values in daily work activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Completion of secondary school and fulltime enrollment in postsecondary institution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working within an academic setting would be an asset
- Experience in office administration would be an asset
- Experience gathering and compiling information and drafting documents
- Experience with data entry, record maintenance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional would be an asset
- Proficiency in WordPress would be an asset
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
- Ability to effectively and accurately communicate technical information in writing
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to operate a PC and work comfortably in a computerized office environment
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work
- Ability to create, compose, edit and proofread written materials using exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to analyze and solve problems typically associated with responsibilities
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work within established organizational practices, protocols and policies
- Ability to work in a consultative and collaborative fashion with a variety of other units to further overall school strategic objectives
Language:
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension)
- French/Indigenous language skills would be considered asset
