    Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, Operations, the Business Unit Controller will be part of a dynamic team that acts as a business partner driving financial goals alignment and optimal operational execution. Providing Operations Finance support including operational data analysis, cost measurement and control, financial results analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.

    The role is responsible for all Financial Management functions and will have the accountability of Operations support and financial duties relating to the Business Unit. The Business Unit Controller is responsible for the financial reporting and controls of the unit and is expected to use influencing skills to work cross functionally across the business. This includes the ongoing management of the operating financial plans as well as ensuring internal and external financial policy and procedures are followed.

    As a member of the Group Management Team, the successful candidate will assume a leadership role in initiatives and improvements of business processes.

    Responsibilities:

  • Lead the reporting processes such as Monthly P&L's, Forecasts, Budget, operational reporting and ad hoc analysis. Ensures timely and quality reporting, providing effective and precise information to the site and customer management.
  • Support Operations with Cost Analysis, Margin Improvement, Cost optimization opportunities.
  • Assist with internal and external audit process.
  • Leadership role in initiatives and improvements of business processes with other Business Units and promote ideas through the entire group to ensure systems and operational processes meet the ongoing departmental needs.
  • Relationship management – ensuring productive and cordial relationships with customers, operations and other departments including IT, HR and Payroll.

  • Participate in special projects to improve process efficiency and performanceParticipate in system migration and other IT projectsFinancial modelling for new business opportunities
  • Requirements:

  • Professional designation CPA, CMA or CGA designation7 to 10 years' experience in a finance role with demonstrated financial acumen and solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Strong analytical skills to validate data and reports in a timely manner is essentialProblem solver with the ability to analyze and prioritize to meet business objectivesAdvanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyze dataExperience with ERP system is essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics D365 F&O is an assetExcellent interpersonal skills, a team player collaborating with others to drive to a solutionStrong oral and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of transportation management system (TMS) software and Power BI is an asset
