We're currently looking for a Junior OHS Advisor to join our Health, Safety and Environment team to support our expansion in Ontario.

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team Under the supervision of the regional team leader, you'll be accountable to ensure compliance with BBA's HSE system and regulations.

As an advisor, you'll share time across BBA's various offices. Some travel to our Sudbury office or any other offices may be required. This is an administrative role but may require some field presence.

With us you'll get the opportunity to
Be the first point of contact for all OHS-related requests.
Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate the onboarding of new employees.
Assist in implementing the BBA HSE system at our new facilities.

Support the HSE department, manage personal protective equipment, draft procedures and safe work practices and collaborate with team members to help improve tools and processes, training follow-up and skills, etc.

Coach and support managers and personnel in identifying, analyzing and controlling health and safety hazards.
Help prepare HSE training with the Training department.
Make recommendations to management to mitigate identified health and safety concerns.
Make regular visits to different BBA facilities to identify and assess OHS risks and recommend solutions to management.
Conduct internal OHS audits at various BBA offices as well as at our client sites where BBA employees work.
Develop and maintain separate action plans for each location, as necessary.
Research and benchmark best practices while creating the action plan.
Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings.
Monitor and update logs and performance indicators (KPIs) (event reports, statistics, etc.).
Coordinate the drafting and distribution of health and safety information.

Monitor existing OHS programs for the Field Services team and other locations to ensure program requirements continue to be executed, as required.

Update the first-aid plan, emergency plan, workplace inspection reports and the non-conformance report (NCR).
Produce periodic or ad hoc HSE reports for internal and external clients.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

From 1 to 3 years of relevant OHS experience in an industrial setting or consulting firm
At least 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience
Excellent command of the entire Microsoft Office Suite
Strong knowledge of OHS best practices and regulations
Ability to travel to various offices across Canada


Asset:
Bilingual in English and French or Spanish


Asset:
Experience in consulting engineering or another professional services firm.
