Job Summary:

Key Function:

Regular communication with the vendors
Setting strategic directions for material group family
Coaching and developing the team beyond the immediate needs

Produce clearly written and verbal communication
Communicate in a way that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain their message

Use the most appropriate channels of communication within and between departments/divisions
Communicate effectively, both inside and outside the organization, on both simple and complex topics

Negotiation skills:

Plan, prepare and conduct negotiations supported by a factbase
Consider broad commercial and noncommercial factors in negotiation
Define potential scenarios, negotiation roles and a negotiation strategy
Prepare and execute negotiation tactics and approaches including the ability to adapt/flex tactics during a negotiation
Achieve negotiation outcomes that are winwin results
Tactical in vendor negotiations
Ability to effectively think on your feet during negotiations

Presentation skills:

Present ideas effectively to individuals or groups.
Effective in a variety of formal and informal presentation settings: oneonone, small, and large groups.
Command attention and manage group process during the presentation.

Problem-solving skills:

Ability to identify root causes and to solve problems for both short and longterm.
Undertake to solve a complex task by breaking it down into manageable parts in a systematic, detailed way.
Anticipate potential obstacles and develop contingency plans to overcome them.
Consider the organization's priorities when making decisions or analyzing the costs and benefits of various alternative solutions.

Functional expertise:

Broad commercial and supply chain experience in commodities related to moving, mobile types of equipment.
Strong interaction with and influence of internal stakeholders and outside vendors.
Technical Background in the area of reading and understanding mechanical blueprints.
Postsecondary education is preferred.
Strong leadership skills.
