Job summary
We are seeking two motivated forestry professionals to assist with forestry project delivery and on-the-ground forestry work. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Forester will be responsible for assisting with implementation of the Bio-Economy project or leading a wildlife habitat assessment project.Responsibilities
- Work towards and obtain Registered Professional Forester or Associate RPF designation with the Ontario Professional Foresters Association
- Assist with forest management planning activities including planning documents developing forest inventory products long-term management direction forest estate modeling determining current forest condition
- Lead a wildlife habitat assessment project Develop forest inventory data from remote sensing and on-the-ground data collection Forestry road and block design and layout as-needed Meet with external stakeholders government representatives advance Cat Lake First Nation bio-economy master plan implementation Run manage onsite drone operations Forest estate modeling as needed Prepare maps GIS layers annual reporting preparation annual work schedules
