JOB TITLE :
Human Relations Officer

Quaqtaq

STATUS :
Permanent full time

IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR :
Head of program (Social Services)

FUNCTIONS:
Assist users having psychosocial problems such as: family and domestic violence, mental health problem, substance abuse, suicide;
Intervene in crisis situation and share with the Youth Protection team the psychosocial watch duty;
Work in collaboration with the inuit social assistant of the CLSC;
Provides, on a rotating basis, psychosocial emergency services 24/7

Collaborate with the social organizations of the community;
Intervene, depending on the case, according to an individual, family or community-based approach;
Promotes a multidisciplinary approach within the different programs of the CLSC;
Work on making the population aware and rally their interest on social problems.

Qualifications
Must have a university degree in the humanities or social sciences such as social work, criminology or psychology.

At least five (5) years of relevant work experience with various clienteles;
Bilingualism (French and English), Inuktitut would be an asset;
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and interested in sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues;
Organization skills, initiative and autonomy;
Available to travel when requested by immediate supervisor
